Which Bomberman 2?

This piece is groovin'. Bomberman is one of my favorite games, but I've never heard this before. There are enough versions of Bomberman that I tried to find the original, but I couldn't. It had one real abrupt shift in it that threw my groove off. What the fuck happened at 1:13?

Daiski responds:

It's Bomberman 2(released somewhere in 1992 as i remember)on NES. 1:13 - you mean silence moment? It was in original tune, and it looks really nice to me(it puts some dramatic pause). And thanks for feedback!:3

Great Song

Dude, I wish I could do this in six hours. So jealous. It has the spacey feel, but it's missing the old school video game feel for me. To the reviewers below: it's for the Newgrounds Audio Competition (NAC), and it had international entries!

I love the melody.

First off, why isn't this labeled as a loop? I loops better than many loops to my ears. Also at 0:40 and 1:14 as the reviewer below me stated I think the volume is a bit much on the instrument entering, but more importantly that instrument feels like it's dragging on the beat to me.

I like it.

Glad you participated in the audio competition so I could hear this! It doesn't have that old school video game feel to me, but it's still a wonderful piece. I like the tempo changes. I'd love to hear the "much different" music you normally throw together. Much better than my first submission!

Thanks a lot man!

^there's some of my other stuff. It's still mostly electronic, but in a different way. I thought your waltz was perfect for the contest :)

Thanks again!

I'm zooming past the stars

while sitting in the comfort of my armchair. Beautiful, and although it does loop sorta funny, I can't think of any other criticisms for you that you haven't already pointed out in your own comments.

Could listen to this all day long. Is S.P.A.C.E. an acronym for something in your title?

F-Meister responds:

Thanks! I didn't really mean it to be an acronym for anything but I guess I could make something up... how about:

STELLAR PULSAR ALPHA CENTAURI EXPLOSION

pewpewpew!!!

Would make a nice background piece.

At times it gets a little repetitive, but it works for the piece in this case. I'm not feeling the spacey and this isn't old school. The bass is a tad bit on the loud side. I like the tempo and instumentation though.

The bass hurt my ears and made me dizzy.

Apart from that, I loved the melody. As for the theme... I got something more like dance club movie scene out of it than space game song, and it definitely isn't old school.

Spacey it is.

And it would make a nice background piece for a some game I'm sure. But it doesn't really go anywhere as a song, and it's far from retro or old school gamey. Also, it gets a bit on the harsh side at points.

This song doesn't please my ears.

It's definitely got an old school feel, and I could see this as a boss fight song, but not one of the better ones in the game.

A little harsh at points.

It definitely has the old school feel, but this reminds me more of one of those tunes that would make me turn off the sound and play something else on the stereo. It's just too discordant at times for me, and I feel like the different lines aren't working well together at points. Also, not particularly spacey but the tunes from that era's space games sound like this, not spacey. I do love the end.

PainasaurusRex responds:

While I accept that it's harsh, it's how they sounded back in the day... especially if their sounds were square heavy, which mine are. Also, it's suppose to sound like the retro space games, not necessarily spacey... Just saying. Though I can tell by the rating you didn't hate it, so I accept your criticism and will work on making it less harsh and make it work together better in the future. Thank you for taking the time. It really means a lot to me.
